Nissan’s World Without Petrol campaign was created as an outdoor art installation to bring attention to the company’s electric LEAF cars. It asked people to question what use fuel pumps would have in the near future, and featured bowsers upcyled as mini-golf hole, a popcorn maker, a greenhouse and a fully functioning fortune teller. Alien Proof Construction was responsible for the construction, animatronics, electrics and audio of the Zoltar bowser featured in the following footage.

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – MAY 17: Australian singer and Nissan LEAF ambassador, Natalie Bassingthwaighte holds up a tarot card at a petrol bowser fashioned into a Zoltar machine at Customs House on May 17, 2012 in Sydney, Australia. Designed by Australian artist James Dive and inspired by electric vehicles, the interactive exhibition of 40 recycled petrol bowsers converted into useful everyday items is intended to promote the Nisaan LEAF, the first mass produced 100% electric vehicle in Australia.
